Had a powerful convo with friends about habit 2: start with the end in mind. Realized we all have one prof and one personal goal that we are all working on, and that we can help each other with our goals #edl610 #ollin1 @domsmithRP— Giulia Longo (@MsLongo123) May 28, 2018
Reflection: I feel fortunate that I have a strong group of friends. I have lived
in San Diego for 6 years now and finally feel grounded with my life
professionally and personally. I had the chance to talk with my friends about
this habit because we all spent Memorial Day weekend together at the beach in
Oceanside. We were taking a walk and I brought up the habits. I like to think
that I know my friends well, but after this conversation, I truly felt like I knew
them even better. We are all working towards something, professionally and
personally, and I never would have known this if it hadn’t been for this
conversation. For me, I know that professionally, I am working towards my admin
credential – that is my long-term goal. In the short term, professionally, I would
love to be a lead teacher at my site. Knowing that I want to be a lead teacher,
I have to model the behaviors that I feel a lead teacher would have, therefore,
working towards my goal. Personally, I would like to update my blog more. I
have a personal blog and I truly love it (and am one of 12 people that still
has a current blog in 2018). In order for me to update my blog, I like to do
something active or fun that I feel is worth blogging about. It isn’t just
anything, my posts have meaning and are a scrapbook for me. In talking about my
goals with my friends, we realized that we can help each other with our goals.
This was huge because it showed me that by working together, we can achieve
more than we could alone. We can help each other achieve goals that seem so far
off and distant. With each other, they aren’t so far.
