The Situation: Delayed flight this weekend— Giulia Longo (@MsLongo123) June 11, 2018
The Solution: Gate agents were on top of it and kept us informed.
Win-Win: Pass won b/c we knew what was happening and GA didn't have 300 ppl coming to them complaining #winwin #EDL650 @domsmithRP
Reflection: How can we ensure that everyone is getting something out of this?
That is the question that was on my mind for this habit. I’m in a weird spot
because I was traveling to Italy this week and therefore, was trying to look at
multiple situations for this reflection. I noticed it right away at the
airport. Gate agents have a hard job. They have to keep 300 plus people happy
that are about to get on a 9-hour flight that is now delayed. I’ve traveled
enough to know that not all gate agents are created equal. Some are friendly,
others not so friendly. It happens, we have our days. This particular gate
agent was very friendly and kept us all in the loop so we weren’t swarming the
desk with the same question. In reflecting on this scenario, I’m reminded of my
classroom when I get the same question over and over and over and over. After
this, I’m wondering, “If that many students have the same question, did I explain
_____ enough/correctly/clearly?” It isn’t always the students who aren’t
listening. Sometimes, I need to reflect and ensure that I am communicating clearly
so that we can all work together – some may call this a win-win situation.
